How to pack a box at home with Westside Shipping & More!
How do you ship an elk, you ask? Well, with proper planning and skillful craftmanship, we did exactly this! One of our lovely customers needed to ship a stuffed elk head out of state and our team tackled this massive project with gusto! Due to the sheer size and odd shape of the elk head with antlers attached, Bob was clever enough to build a custom plywood mounting frame to attach to the back of the elk to add support and prevent damage. Then Bob built a custom double-wall corrugated box 57″ x 48″ x 40″, that he lined with 1 1/2″ Key Locked Foam board to help absorb shock during transport. Lastly, we bolted the completed box on to a pallet, strapped 500 lb. rated horizontal bands around both, and then wrapped it all in plastic. Then Estes freight delivered it without issue!
